L.I.V.E is a community-based organization dedicated to raising awareness about the issue of "Intimate Partner Violence" (commonly known as "domestic violence") within the College of Law at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. The issue of Intimate Partner Violence arises in and impacts many areas of the law. Our organization is devoted to:
  • Increasing awareness about intimate partner violence;
  • Educating future attorneys about the impact of intimate partner violence on the area of law in which they will practice; and
  • Mitigating the effects of intimate partner violence as practicing attorneys through an understanding of current and proposed legislation and utilization of existing resources.

The ABA Commission on Domestic Violence has formally requested that law schools incorporate domestic violence into required curriculum. L.I.V.E. will prepare law students to deal with the issue in a professional capacity and benefit the community while meeting the ABA's stated goals.
